Description

I'm posting a pic ONLY to let everyone know that I am not dead! I'm taking a religious fast from the internet. Sadly that includes DA. I'm breaking fast now to tell ya'll that this'll last a few more weeks before I'm back. Thanks.

Oh, and this is miss Liv. Looking beautiful as usual.

The stroking style I liked in "Too Much Water" is present here, so the hair in particular is very good. In general I like this piece.

Great art is all about moving the observer in some way, touching their hearts, conveying and inspiring any combination of mood, emotion, story, wonder, beauty/ugliness, message, idea, and thought.

There are 412 human emotions and only 20 facial muscles to express them.

As you know, faces are the ultimate challenge in figure drawing. Drawing a face is not that hard, the challenge is in capturing personality, emotion, attitude, spirit, and story of the character's face.

From what I see so far in about 8 of your pieces, you are doing really well in capturing and conveying the character of each subject.

I just found out how young you are, which surprised me by how well you are doing. I just found this today in another artist too, so I am amazed at how well some you are doing.

Figure drawing is a very challenging place to start drawing, so it is very impressive to see you doing so well at it.

Getting back to this piece, there are some hopefully constructive things I would like to point out. Obviously, this is a matter of opinion only.

This is not as clean as "Too Much Water" when it comes to shading and contouring. For example, the bodice/neckline transition is made up of light crosshatching, instead of creating an actual neckline with shading. The facial shading is a "bit" (not much) heavy handed. The blouse does no look complete, in comparison to the rest of the piece.

All this being said, please note that I like this piece as a whole, and am only pointing out areas I personally think could use improvement, or are at least worth thinking about.

All the best...
